We've purchased a number of massage implements over the years and of all of those, this is by far and away her favorite. It doesn't look like much but it and its hard to explain but this little tool definitely does the trick for tightness in many of the classic areas of the body. The tool has three different sides (serrated, bladed, rounded) that can be used for a variety of areas. It takes a little experimentation, but you position the davinci in a certain area (e.g. shoulder blade in picture) and you apply weight to it. It can be used for pressure point relief, stretching areas and vertebrae alignment. The material feels like a firm rubber, but it does give way. For a harder plastic I would recommend the davinci tool firm (blue color). The other benefit is that its portable - my gf literally takes this with her almost everyday to her dance studio. She showed it to her dance colleagues and they all started getting it to!
As for buying one vs. two, I got two because they are cheaper per tool and now we have one at home and work. One is probably enough for most households if you keep it at home.
