These bars come in different awesome and amazing varieties. This particular bar is banana bread. It actually tastes just like banana bread. It is amazing to me how they can make these bars taste this way without any added sugar or anything else, but only with natural ingredients (and only a few of them at that). If you like banana bread, you will love this bar.
Here are reasons this product is awesome:
Taste: I've often heard that anything that's good for you does not taste good. These bars must be the exception. They taste so good, I have to hide them from myself!
Healthiness: These bars are only made with natural ingredients. No added or processed anything.
Energizing: Because these bars have only natural ingredients and no added sugars or chemicals, they give you the energy you need and cure your hunger.
Convenience: Because they don't have to be cooked or measured or heated, and you don't need a spoon, these bars are good to take for a lunch, or when you are traveling, or just when you will be out and might need a healthy snack before you get home.
Vegan: Even if you are not vegan and don't care anything about veganism, these bars are so good, you'd never know they are vegan-friendly. And if you are vegan, then you know how hard it is to find decent vegan-friendly products.
Tasty, healthy, energizing, convenient, and vegan. How much more can you ask for?
I am very picky about my foods. I do not eat anything processed or that is imitation or that has chemicals in it. I even do not eat processed sugar or flour. This is not necessarily for health reasons, but because I simply do not like the taste of processed foods. (It is both health-reasons and taste-reasons.) Therefore, there are very few foods, other than fresh foods, that I will eat. Therefore, if this product passes my rugged requirements, then it must be superb!
I have become addicted to these wonderful bars. They are truly amazing.
Highly recommended. And not just to health-conscious people.

If you love caramel and need something sweet these bars work out perfectly. I use them in place of a candy bar. They are only 150 calories but they taste like more. I use them to diet with even though they are for people with diabetes. They fill you up and don't give you the sugar high. I eat one and I'm not hungry again for a few hours. My husband likes them too! I have tried many low glycemic bars and these have been the best tasting. They satisfy the sweet cravings.

I periodically order this product for my diabetic mother, and she says that it is by far the best tasting diabetic snack on the market. The caramel nut bar is her all time favourite, since its taste satisfies her sweet tooth and keeps her within the dietary limits of a diabetic.

Having been dx'd with Diabetes a few months ago,I was on the lookout for something that could satisfy my sweet tooth.I purchased a box of these bars from Glucerna,hoping for a nice surprise. I got it.They taste good. They do not taste like you are gnawing on a block of minerals.Seriously. They are really good.
If you decide to try these,please be SURE to ask your doctor if it is acceptable for you to use these bars. Mine did,and I have used them ever since.I no longer have the cravings for sweets that I did before.

Going on Weight Watchers has its challenges. I have lost about 40 lbs to date and it has been good but I find that many of the products recommended by them have too much sugar. For example, everyone suggested Fiber One Bars as a snack because they are low in points. I noticed though that they spiked my blood sugar and stalled my weight loss. I switched to Extend Bars and boy, what a difference! I eat one of these every day, some times two. I really like them before bed or in the morning to help stabilize my blood sugar (I am hypoglycemic, pre-diabetic). I never have trouble eating breakfast now, these with a glass of skim milk or coffee and milk and a piece of fruit and I am good to go until lunch.
What is the difference between Extend Bars and the rest on the market? First, they are only a 150 calories with only 3 grams of fat but 11 grams of protein per bar. They also have 5 grams of fiber, just enough to help digestion, without causing stomach discomfort. (Something I can not say about some of the others on the market!)
I can not find another bar on the market to match those protein and fiber stats for the little calories and fat exchange. Also, the glycemic index is low because this bar contains a special slow digesting corn starch created from a corn grain that is different than the normal variety. It does not allow the blood sugar to spike, which can stall weight loss. This is the number one selling point for me, high protein and low glycemic...
Finally because I really believe we eat WAY too many processed carbs in our diet, this satisfied me in another area, it has a low net carb ratio, and does it WITHOUT the use of high levels of sugar alcohol. There are only 4 grams of sugar alcohol per bar, that is completely different than any other low carb bar on the market.
I really like the Chocolate and Peanut Butter, but not too wild about the berry and apple ones though. These taste exactly like the South Beach Cereal Bars, just less sweet. Give them a chance, they are not going to be as sweet as other things on the market...but they are great with coffee or milk...helps them not be too dry. Be sure to drink plenty of water as will any high fiber bar.

This is a product I won't hesitate to endorse. It has everything I am looking for in a low glycemic index energy bar. It's packed with vitamins and nutrients, is low in calories and tastes great. I give them to my son who has special needs and they help to keep his appetite in check. He loves the peanut butter and chocolate bars. I tend to have dips in my blood sugar between meals and these bars are great as a "hold over" snack until I can eat a meal. The only problem I have is I wish they were sold in more stores.
