Sorry it doesn't seem to communicate with VISTA or Windows 7 systems. Although there is a manual entry mode, it is a pain to use after using the fast download feature on XP. It would be nice if a new driver release would work on Vista and Windows7.

The large display is very easy to read, and the compact size makes it perfect for people that are on the go and would enjoy a smaller unit for travel or everyday use.
This kit includes a spring-loaded lancing device that can be adjusted for comfort, and can be modified to allow for testing on the fingertips, palms, or forearm. It is easy to calibrate and can store prior readings in addition to displaying the date and time of your last test. It's also easy to find supplies to support this model in any local drugstore or pharmacy...even my corner grocery store has an ample supply of testing strips and lancets that are required for this model.
Again, you're not going to find a lot of bells and whistles with this model, but if you are looking for a discreet and simple glucose monitor, I recommend that you give this meter a try.

(More customer reviews)This one is smooth, easy to use and almost completely painless. It does allow you to adjust the depth to meet your own needs. The disposable system is simple and works just fine if directions are followed. You could use this system for any meter. I personally use the Bayer Contour and the Bayer strips, but that is my choice...as I said, it will work with any unit. I test frequently and have been using this one for several months now. So far I have had no problems what so ever.

Do be sure you check with your pharmacy company or insurance company to see if the lancets are covered. I understand that some insurance companies will not cover these as of yet.
Nice little sticking machine...no pain, easy to use and appears quite sturdy. What more could you want?

Draw blood and put it into the container with the test solution, II:Tap it onto the test disk. Neither is difficult or complicated. As far as the varied results that the previous reviewer got I wonder how long he/she has been a diabetic. The glucose meters that we use several times a day are rated to be off as much as 25%, this test kit has a lower error rate and the numbers he suppiled demonstrate that to be true.

(More customer reviews)I am diabetic and have since moved on to more potent medications to try and manage my disease, but I can tell you how this product effected me when I took it - not at all. For some strange reason - and remember everybody is different - this product had no effect on blood sugar control in my case whatsoever. This was not the case for straight ground cinnamon like you buy in the grocery store. It could drop my blood sugar like a rock. I've heard from others, who said that this product did work for them, that it has a very short shelf life and is much more susceptible to heat and humidity than straight cinnamon. Of course, your mileage may vary, and if you are having trouble with straight ground cinnamon, it might be worth a try.
Supposedly, the only real difference between cinnulin pf and ground cinnamon for people using it to help control their blood sugar is that cinnulin is water soluble and ground cinnamon is fat soluble. Thus some people who take ground cinnamon over long periods of time could have a buildup in their systems of the toxic elements that are unrelated to controlling blood sugar. Thus the advantage of cinnulin over cinnamon - but only if it actually works.

It comes with a lancet device included (Accu-Chek Softclix Lancet Device) and 10 lancets but no strips; therefore, in order to use it even once, you must buy the strips. I bought the Accu-Chek Active Blood Glucose Test Strips and they work. Given that 10 lancets last only ten times, you are better off buying lancets right away. Careful! You must buy the Accu-Chek Softclix Lancets (the Accu-Check SoftTouch Lancets will NOT work).
Once you have all your equipment, you do the following. Every time that you buy a new box of Strip, you must put the microchip in the monitoring kit.
The routine is very easy: load the lancet device; load the strip in the monitoring kit; use the lancet device to make a tiny prick in your finger, put the drop of blood on strip. Five seconds and you get the answer.

At first, I was a bit skeptical about SugarDown, thinking it was either an unsafe or an ineffective product. I e-mailed Ken Tassey, CEO of Boston Therapeutics, and he answered all of my questions. As a newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic, I was scared for my future health status. Even after following the diet my dietician had put me on, I still was not happy with my blood glucose readings (going as high as 211 post meal). So I got the courage to order my first bottle of SugarDown in June. I noticed immediate results. To make a long story short, my fasting glucose (done in the lab) went from 158 (March 2010) to 97 (July 2010) and my A1c went from 6.2% (April 2010) to 5.7% (July 2010).
I just spent 2 weeks in Paris, and I was able to enjoy (in moderation) the fabulous French cuisine, including desserts. I was taking the maximum 6 tablets a day, and my blood glucose remained at normal levels. I nearly ran out, but Ken Tassey agreed to ship some to me while I was in Paris. Not only an amazing product, but amazing customer service as well!
I will continue to take SugarDown and I recommend it for all diabetics, type 1 and 2, as well as prediabetics.

It may have been just a coincidence but my sugar is more under control with this product than it has ever been before. Upon sending an e-mail as to how to proceed to get the order corrected, I'm asked to call a phone number and given their office hours. I call the number and can't get past the machine. I don't have time to screw around with this. I simply write it off as a lost cause and take my business elsewhere.
