The large display is very easy to read, and the compact size makes it perfect for people that are on the go and would enjoy a smaller unit for travel or everyday use.
This kit includes a spring-loaded lancing device that can be adjusted for comfort, and can be modified to allow for testing on the fingertips, palms, or forearm. It is easy to calibrate and can store prior readings in addition to displaying the date and time of your last test. It's also easy to find supplies to support this model in any local drugstore or pharmacy...even my corner grocery store has an ample supply of testing strips and lancets that are required for this model.
Again, you're not going to find a lot of bells and whistles with this model, but if you are looking for a discreet and simple glucose monitor, I recommend that you give this meter a try.

The strips give similar results as the Bayer Multistix 10 SG strips. The price is not bad but not the cheapest either. I could find $32-33 online in some other stores.

If you read the product description, you could be fooled, as I was in a quick reading, to think that they are 10-test strips. Read the start of the product description and see what I mean; all the ten tests are listed. The product here, however, is only a two test strip and as such is no great bargain. Also, when I returned them, as not having the test I needed and having been fooled by the description, I was only issued a partial refund. Please avoid these unless you know for sure they cover your test.

I received an email from a very sympathetic woman at the company who said she was the Amazon customer service manager. She claimed that the problem with the product listing was not their fault, and that she would cheerfully refund my shipping charges and the remainder of my purchase price, if only I would delete this negative review. That was clearly her only intent in contacting me. After some discussion she said that she would put through a refund for me anyhow, but she said it would take a long time, several weeks, and was a lot of work, but if I would delete this review, she could get it done much faster. Of course, this made no sense, and neither did most of her other explanations. She said she would give me an additional "credit to my account," but I was never able to determine what account she was talking about. My account with her company, where I was unlikely to ever buy again?
I asked her a number of follow-up questions about why the listing was wrong and why I didn't receive a full refund, and never got much of an answer, at least not one that made sense. So I said that I would be happy to edit my review, once the refund was received.
As you might guess, no refund was ever received. I never heard from them again. My feeling is that this is not a terribly organized or high-integrity operation. So, as with any other Marketplace purchase, there is an element of buyer beware.

It looks very stylish, and is small and discreet. Nice size screen, with very readable results (and a backlight). It also requires a tiny drop of blood, and these strips give you visible feedback that the blood is being taken up.
The strips are incredibly inexpensive - kudos to AgaMatrix for this. Probably one of the best strip bargains around.
For their first meter, AgaMatrix has done a lot right. I can't wait to see their future offerings.

Inside the box (which I didnt notice until it was too late) was a note asking that I do not give the store a bad rating, instead contact the merchant before giving a review.....lol. Its a scam and wa a big waste of my time and taking a day off to make sure that my son receives his updated meter for his severe diabetes. I was disappointed and as a result I had to take my son to the emergency room because his old meter was reading incorrect

WaveSense Lancets, 33 Gauge, 100 Count Box Review

(More customer reviews)The AgaMatrix Wavesense glucose meter is the most accurate glucose meter on the market (almost twice as accurate as most other meter) and works great. These Lancets are made to be used with the meter. They are 33 Gauge and hence thinner than most other Lancets, so they should be less painful to use. The problem is that the Lancing device that comes with the Wavesense glucose meter is poorly made and cannot reproducibly lance your finger to the same depth: moreover the depth setting doesn't work most of the time. This means you end up having to lance much more deeply than necessary to avoid having to lance repeatedly when the lancing depth is too shallow.
I switched to the Accucheck Multiclix lancing device : it is more expensive but as advertised less painful even though it uses a 30Gauge needle, since its lancing depth is predictable and it uses a cam mechanism to not just lance but also withdraw the needle smoothly. It works great with my Wavesense meter and even fits in the wavesense case.
