There are two separate tests on each strip: whilte blood cell and nitrite.
It is difficult to get absolutely free of some white blood cells. A statement confirmed by my doctor. The nitrite test has proved accurate and reliable for me.

However, I did ask not what brand, since the description states specifically "Multistix Bayer Urine Test Strips 10 SG, 100/box" and the picture is of the Bayer Multistix 10-SG. I assumed it was more expensive than the other companies since it was the true Bayer product. I got the product today and it is the Siemens brand, which I could have ordered about $5-10 cheaper from other companies. The expiration date was what the person said. Just used it and it seems to work fine, but I do not have any other test strip to directly compare to in order to check its accuracy.

If you read the product description, you could be fooled, as I was in a quick reading, to think that they are 10-test strips. Read the start of the product description and see what I mean; all the ten tests are listed. The product here, however, is only a two test strip and as such is no great bargain. Also, when I returned them, as not having the test I needed and having been fooled by the description, I was only issued a partial refund. Please avoid these unless you know for sure they cover your test.

I received an email from a very sympathetic woman at the company who said she was the Amazon customer service manager. She claimed that the problem with the product listing was not their fault, and that she would cheerfully refund my shipping charges and the remainder of my purchase price, if only I would delete this negative review. That was clearly her only intent in contacting me. After some discussion she said that she would put through a refund for me anyhow, but she said it would take a long time, several weeks, and was a lot of work, but if I would delete this review, she could get it done much faster. Of course, this made no sense, and neither did most of her other explanations. She said she would give me an additional "credit to my account," but I was never able to determine what account she was talking about. My account with her company, where I was unlikely to ever buy again?
I asked her a number of follow-up questions about why the listing was wrong and why I didn't receive a full refund, and never got much of an answer, at least not one that made sense. So I said that I would be happy to edit my review, once the refund was received.
As you might guess, no refund was ever received. I never heard from them again. My feeling is that this is not a terribly organized or high-integrity operation. So, as with any other Marketplace purchase, there is an element of buyer beware.

If diabetes runs in your family, if you are pre-diabetic, if you have full-blown diabetes and your doctor approves, use THESE Chemsrrip uGK Strips, instead of the much more expensive strips which require needles and meters. I was pre-diabetic for a very long time, and my doctor advised me to use the Chemstrips. (I also used a bathroom scale, to keep track of my weight.) These plastic strips are relatively simple to use, and totally need NO needles or meters. They are similar to Bayer Ketostrips, but seem to last longer and are more immune to light than the Ketostrips, which I have also tried. I would suggest anyone who is even a little overweight buy these strips -- and use them once a week. They give an "early warning" for diabetes without much cost or trouble. It's always better to be safe than sorry -- and in today's world, with SO many people being over-weight, one never can tell. Buy these strips -- and buy a GOOD scale. If you keep weight-loss always in the back of your mind, and use these strips (at least) once a week, you may never get full-blown diabetes. (More customer reviews)I am prone to urinary tract infections and these strips are an economical way to test frequently, and they are accurate for that purpose (I haven't used them for any of the other parameters). They are much more economical to use than the Azo strips that cost about $3 each.
I can't understand why people complain that the colors run together if you don't hold the strips horizontally. All you have to do is follow the instructions, folks! Hold the strip horizontally! What's the big deal?
It's important to time the test accurately. I use a kitchen minute timer. A certain level of leukocytes in the urine is normal, and you'll get a false positive if you leave the strip for much longer than that. (The test is for leukocytes, not bacteria - leukocytes are white blood cells, which are the body's response to infection.) It's designed to be accurate at two minutes; be attentive to that instruction.
For people prone to chronic UTIs, I highly recommend Cranstat, a blend of herbs and cranberry extract. I take this at first sign of trouble on test strip, and the test always clears in a day or two. Much better for you than repeated use of antibiotics. However, if you wait too long and the infection becomes acute, Cranstat may not work. That's why I test at least once every three days.
