Yes, I get the "tingles / ants in my skin" with beta alanine, as other reviewers also experienced. But I kind of like getting the tingles because then I know the beta alanine is working. 5-star product so far, three-weeks in.

(More customer reviews)...I'm surprised at Paul's review. I took this stuff for about six months, along with cutting back on animal fat (which I had done previously with limited success). I had quit taking a statin because I had memory issues, and it really scared me. As I recall, it brought my cholesterol down another 30+ points, enough to squeak by without having to go back to statins.
There are genetic issues at play here, as well. My sister-in-law was down to eating sawdust, to no avail. Her cholesterol levels were all due to heredity, not diet. So if controlling your diet helps your cholesterol level some, then I'd say this is definitely worth a try.

(More customer reviews)I was diagnosed with Primary Addison's Disease May 2010. I have had adrenal insufficiency since September 2007. I take Liothyron (T3) 18.75 mg timed release every 12 hours. I started Prednisone, 9 mg daily for chronic fatigue, diagnosed by a Nurse Practitioner, December 2009. I went to an endocrinologist, April 2010, to test for Addison's Disease, and they reduced the prednisone to 7.5 mg daily. 9 am, I took 5 mg prednisone, 4 pm I took 2.5 mg prednisone, the effects wore off in 2 hours, I was then reclined or bedridden until the next morning. The prednisone did not last long enough in my system, so I searched for something to fill in the period between 4 pm and 9 am. Making the bed would be an exhausting chore that I would need to lay down afterword and taking a shower I would need to lay down afterward exhausted.
Side effects of Prednisone were insomnia, heart racing, night sweats, hot flashes, weak leg muscles, did not reduce inflammation, eratic blood pressure and oral temperatures.
I started taking Pregnenolone, May 19, 2010, 30 mg in the morning while taking the prednisone. 2nd - 5th day I took 30 mg pregnenolone in am and pm with the 7.5 mg daily prednisone dosage. Stopped taking prednisone on the 6th day with no adrenal crash. Currently, I take 30 mg of pregnenolone, about 7 hours apart. I don't crave salt now, no night sweats, sleep better, reduced inflammation, stronger mentally and physically.
Pregnenolone is a nutritional supplement which is similar to the primary steroid your body uses to make all the hormones/steroids you need. It will boost the hormones and steroids you need boosted and reduce those that are too high. I use Pure Encapsulations Pregnenolone ordered from Amazon. I had a 24 hour "ComprehensivePLUS Hormone Profile" urine test on December 2008 which showed I was low in all steroids/hormones. Extensive blood tests in April 2010 to reveal hormone and steriod levels. Read warnings before starting.

The chelation process makes it more absorbable, specially for old folks like me...So I ordered Chelated Magnesium from Country Life (for a lot less $), and am happy to report That after one month of taking this product three times a day, my blood pressure has dropped from 198/140 to 140/78, and is still dropping slowly. It took a couple weeks for it to start working, then I had a significant drop for about a week, and now am off the drug the doc had given me. I DO NOT recommend that anyone stop taking blood pressure meds, without your doc's knowledge. A good doctor will work with patients who want to try this alternative to drugs....Magnesium deficiency is common in this age of processed foods, and can be the cause of Hypertension...I take Calcium, potassium , and zinc with the magnesium for balance....Also, Country Life has fast courteous service!
