(More customer reviews)In case you don't know what gymnema sylvestre is, it is useful to diabetics and prediabetics in helping stabilize their blood sugar. It does this by making the insulin you produce more effective and also by absorbing the sugar in the food that you do ingest. Some sources claim that it has the power to regenerate beta cells in the pancreas itself, but I find this claim dubious.
I tried this brand of gymnema sylvestre first, and found it to hit a little to hard, in that the sugar low I got later in the day was just a little too low. A much better product is Informulab's Beta Fast GXR Glucose Balance. The dosage is one tablet twice daily with best results achieved when taken with breakfast and dinner. Each pill is 400 mg gymnema sylvestre leaf just like this product except it is time released.
I was getting hypoglycemia a few hours after I ate the largest meal of the day, which for me was lunch. I began taking half a 400 mg pill with lunch daily and over time saw a real improvement in my condition. I am not a diabetic - yet - so if you are diabetic you should probably talk to your doctor before using it.
