It does this by making the insulin you produce more effective and also by absorbing the sugar in the food that you do ingest. Some sources claim that it has the power to regenerate beta cells in the pancreas itself, but I find this claim dubious.
I tried another brand of gymnema sylvestre first, and found it to hit a little to hard, in that the sugar low I got later in the day was just a little too low. A much better product is Informulab's Beta Fast GXR Glucose Balance - this product. The dosage is one tablet twice daily with best results achieved when taken with breakfast and dinner. Each pill is 400 mg gymnema sylvestre leaf time released.
