(More customer reviews)This thing is tiny - embarrassing to pull out of a lab coat. Way too light for a reflex hammer - you would have to use it incorrectly to actually generate enough force to illicit a reflex. The material the heads are made of is some strange hard plastic that would be impossible to clean effectively.
I ordered a different hammer actually, and this one was sent by mistake, and I am quite disappointed.

(More customer reviews)This multi-functional hammer looks and feels good. It is heavy, looks and feels sturdy. The weight feels balanced for a good percussion. Easy to use. The handle is chrome plated and has a good grip. The Babinski tip at the end of the handle can be used for Babinski / plantar reflex test and is sharp enough even to elicit pain sensation. The screw-in pointed tip can be used for pinprick cutaneous reflex testing. The retractable brush can be used for cutaneous reflexes, but am not sure how long the brush bristles will stay, as they appear to easily come off. The MDF website says that this model (MDF 515BT - MDF® Babinski Buck(tm) Reflex Hammer) is latex free.

(More customer reviews)Forget the cheapo tomahawk style hammers the pharmaceutical companies give you... The oral board reviewers will fail you even for having the nerve to bring that into the exam room. This hammer is well constructed with what appears to be solid steel and unscrewable tips. The brand name is imprinted on one side of the handle and the other is free for any engraving. The end is not sharp enough for an effective babinski. The heft aids immensely in eliciting good brachioradialis and achilles... simply a pleasure to use.

(More customer reviews)The hammer barely passes muster with the just heavy-enough head. The handle is cheap plastic and not ergonomic at all, but rather slippery. The Babinski tip is also cheap plastic. I'd say its overpriced.
