I fell in love with a classmates Riester but was put off by the $100 price tag! This was almost 1/2 so thanks for giving me a great product at a great price! I wish I had been aware of this product before purchasing my first blood pressure cuff set. It is so much easier to manage that I would gladly have spent more money initially!

Reister's ri-san aneroid sphygmomanometer features an easy to use and ergonomic design. The air release valve is operated by a simple finger-tip control. I thought it would be to large and get to much overlap of heart and lung or lung and bowel sounds, but it was wonderful. Great product.

(More customer reviews)This is a great little set to keep with a portable first aid kit, or as a spare for a professional. The stethoscope auscultates well, and includes several bell attachments and extra diaphragms. My only complaint on the scope is that the bilateral tubes are exposed (most better scopes have two tubes, but they are enclosed in a single sheath). The problem comes when listening to gastro sounds and sometimes lung sounds, and the noise from the two tubes rubbing together interferes with listening to the patient sounds. I have seen some who use these scopes tape the two tubes together in multiple places with electrical tape to try and help with this issue, but I find that this practice inhibits the flexibility of the tubes a lot and can interfere with usage. If the tube noise is a huge problem during a particular session I find that you can rub a little baby powder on the tubes to help with the noise temporarily.
The sphygmomanometer is a nice unit, the dial seems accurate and the cuff holds well when inflated (which is my main complaint with the less expensive units, they tend to come off the patients arm when inflated). The other thing I look for in a portable model is the valve on the bulb that inflates the cuff. Sometimes it can be difficult to adjust the valve when emptying the cuff, you either have a cuff that deflates way to fast to get accurate readings or with the tiniest adjustment a cuff that seems to take forever to deflate. This valve on this model makes it easy to regulate deflation rate though.

The meter itself is accurate and inexpensive and therefore I rated this two versus one star. One other point: the seller requires returns within seven days, not the 30 days allowed by Amazon.com; so it looks like I will keep it. Note to self: do not order items which do not have any customer review.

(More customer reviews)This multi-functional hammer looks and feels good. It is heavy, looks and feels sturdy. The weight feels balanced for a good percussion. Easy to use. The handle is chrome plated and has a good grip. The Babinski tip at the end of the handle can be used for Babinski / plantar reflex test and is sharp enough even to elicit pain sensation. The screw-in pointed tip can be used for pinprick cutaneous reflex testing. The retractable brush can be used for cutaneous reflexes, but am not sure how long the brush bristles will stay, as they appear to easily come off. The MDF website says that this model (MDF 515BT - MDF® Babinski Buck(tm) Reflex Hammer) is latex free.

The price is reasonable and I find it unnecessary to pay more for a different model. The Classic II works well and is light weight. I also like the long enough tubing so that I can hear breath sounds at a comfortable distance for both me and my patients. The pink for breast cancer research is an added plus for me. I've had a black Littmann for such a long time.

In fact, this is the same model we were using in school to practice taking measurements. I would recommend this for a beginner and for someone who needs to take readings often. In addition, the stethoscope ear pieces are very comfortable (have had a problem with discomfort in the past). Both the cuff and stethoscope fit in the included case, nicely and is portable.
