(More customer reviews)After a bad accident that resulted in ankle surgery and months of physical therapy, these compression stockings really helped me get back to normal activity sooner. Before using these firm compression stockings my ankle would swell so badly I could only sit or stand without elevating the foot for brief amounts of time. Now I wear these (or the beige ones) when I'm riding my horse or sitting or standing for longer periods of time. They make such a difference in the swelling and comfort level.
The black ones look much like regular hose if you're wearing slacks and they show when sitting.
The first time I used them they were harder to get on, it takes a little practice and patience--don't be in a hurry. Roll them down & get them placed comfortably and correctly on the foot first, then roll them up the leg.
