I found that doctors and nurses wanted you to use something way too violent to the system to handle the problem. So on my own I discovered Swiss Kriss. It solved the problem perfectly. Now my mother-in-law must take coumadin, a blood thinner, and it has the same side effect. She too hated the drugs her doctors wanted her to take to counteract the side effect. I clued her into Swiss Kriss. She has now been using it for years and wouldn't dream of using anything else. We both tried the tablets version of this product and found this version, the flake, to be the better of the two.

(More customer reviews)Triphala is one of the greatest health products. It cleanses the colon and it is gentle. the taste is bitter, but you do get used to it (actually I kind of enjoy it now). You can also use this in tablets or capsules. But personally I think the tea is the best way to go. Use this and constipation will be a thing of the past, and it also eliminates gas as well. Millions of Indian people can't be wrong.

I've tried a lot of different supplements in my time--- probably 40 or 50 different things over the years--vitamins, minerals, herbs. (Try "The Magnesium Factor" by Margaret Seelig or "The Magnesium Miracle" by Carolyn Dean here on Amazon if you want more science of magnesium.)
I highly recommend that everyone try this supplement, at least for a week or two. You probably won't need that long. I noticed an improvement in two days. A MAJOR and IMMEDIATE improvement.

It took some time to find the right product, however, as you need to use a form of Magnesium that ends in "-ate" (and avoid those that end in "-ide," such as Magnesium Oxide). I found this Solgar brand, which contains Magnesium Citrate, in the natural foods section of my grocery store. The particular form I buy contains 200 mg tablets, but this version sold by amazon is even better, as it contains 400 mg tablets, which is the recommended daily dosage for migraine treatment. Once I began taking the recommended dose, I saw a reduction in the frequency of my migraines over the course of 1-2 months. The authors of the book mentioned above recommend using Magnesium in conjunction with two other substances, B2 (Riboflavin) and the herb Feverfew, but Magnesium alone has worked extremely well for me. Highly recommended!
