(More customer reviews)I bought the meter for my mom. The first test result was alarming showing a 55, she tested again and it read 55 on the second try too. So she tested on her expensive One Touch Ultra and resulted in a reading of 84. She test with my prestige and resulted in a 82, and she tested with an Asencia Contour and resulted in a 85. The tests were all repeated and all meters came up with the same reading or a reading within 3 of the previous.
She tried it again tonight and got similar results this time the Easy Check result was 64. The other meters resulted in readings of 99, 103, and 97.
I have contacted the company I bought the meter from via their email form and requested an exchange in case the meter is faulty. I will be back to add the follow-up when more is learned. ----------
April 12,2008 The second meter has been received and it is as bad as the first. I assume this product is not tested or held to any standard.
Do not buy this meter it provides life endangering results.

It has the "magnified" sound due to the style of the head, just like the Ultrascope. I was using a Littman Cardiology just as a loaner after my Ultrascope tubing broke, and it's such a let down from the Ultrascope. I didn't want to pay the high cost to get a new one, so I decided to give this one a try. Guess what...? I love it! It is so close to sound to my Ultrascope, it's unbelievable, and it's so much better than the cardiology (and that stethoscope is very pricey).I LOVE THIS STETHOSCOPE. Can I make it anymore clear? And the cost? My gosh, give me a break...you can't even buy a low-end generic no good for nothing stethoscope for this price and this is a Prestige, which offers good products (I owned Prestige products before). Everyone that sees this item wants to know where I bought and does it really work. I can't brag enough about it. Finally: It makes a great conversation piece with adult patients and family. Also, the pediatric population just love it, making my life a little easier when trying to listen to the little ones. Do yourself a favor and buy this item.

(More customer reviews)I've decided to do a side-by-side comparison of two very similar products: The Playtex Gentle Glide multipack and the Tampax Pearl multipack. Both are offered here on Amazon at roughly the same price per package, though prices will vary with time and/or seller.
Multi-pack: The Pearl offers 3 types of absorbencies in their multipack (8 super, 20 regular, and 8 lights). Meanwhile, the Gentle Glide multipack only offers 2 kinds (regular or super, but offers 18 of each). Each box contains a total of 36 tampons.
Wrapper: Each brand individually wraps their tampons with a plastic wrapper, though the wrapper on the Pearl tampons are slightly softer and make less crinkly sounds when you scrunch them. The biggest difference here, though, is that while the Gentle Glide identifies its brand name and the absorbency level of the tampon on its individual wrapper, the Pearl tampon wrappers have no writing on them and you can only identify which tampon is which absorbency by memorizing the color of the wrapper or checking with the box. This can be a bit of a pain, if you throw one of each type of Pearl tampon into your purse/backpack and forget which absorbency level corresponds to which color.
Applicator: Each brand has a smooth, plastic applicator with a narrow finger grip. While the Pearl applicator appears slightly shorter (4.75 in.) to the Gentle Glide applicator (5 in.), both tampons appear equivalent in circumference/thickness. When I removed the tampon from the applicator, both Super absorbent tampons appear the same size. However, Gentle Glide's regular absorbent tampon appeared to be almost 1/4 inch longer than the Pearl's. (However, this may be a random result, as for the purpose of this experiment, I only opened one tampon at random from each box, of each absorbency.)
Comfort/Composition: The Pearl is made of rayon and/or cotton fiber according to its box. Gentle Glide uses rayon fiber. Both have cotton or polyester strings. Both expand width-wise when absorbing fluid, rather than length-wise like other brands. Both seem equally comfortable. Both are made in the USA.
Absorbency: The FDA regulates tampon absorbencies, so the industry has come up with a standardized measure of labeling. Previously, there was no way of knowing and it was possible the "super" absorbent tampons in one brand was actually less absorbent than "regular" tampons in another brand. The agreed upon labels are as follows: light = less than 6 grams; regular = 6-9 grams; super = 9-12 grams; super plus = 12-15 grams. As you can see, there is still wide range within each range. So, I conducted a little informal experiment/test with a digital kitchen scale (what the heck? I'm bored). I dipped each tampon (again, selected at random) from each box in a cup of water and recorded the amount of water it soaked up when fully absorbed. (Yes, I'm using water--my butcher was fresh out of blood for the day.) Here are the results:
Pearl:
Light - 15g water
Regular - 27g water
Super - 38g water
Gentle Glide:
Regular - 24g water
Super - 40g water
Super Plus (I had this one lying around, so I tested it too) - 55g water
Conclusion:
There's no knock-out here. I would be happy to recommend either of these products. In my experience, they are two of the most comfortable tampons/applicators available on the market and most reliably absorbent.

So quality control is terrible. Worse though, the material used for the connector tubing, the part that is colored, it has a terrible odor that has not gone away with time. Not only does it smell bad, but whatever causes the odor comes off on your fingers from handling the material and your fingers smell of the odor long after using the stethoscope. This makes these intolerable to use.

(More customer reviews)I have extremely thin skin (in the literal sense) that is very prone to cuts, especially when shaving. This Nick Stick has made shaving a lot easier for me -- it is MUCH better than a traditional styptic pen.
When you press the Nick Stick against your skin, the liquid from the base of the stick moistens the top of the stick (the part that's touching your skin), thus cauterizing your cut.
What I hate about traditional styptic pens/alum blocks:
-Pens/blocks are MESSY, leaving a white residue on your face -- and anything else they come in contact with.
-When you're using a pen or block, the entire pen/product is exposed; if you get it wet, the pen/block starts to break down, thus limiting the life of the product.
-Pens tend to run out very quickly.
Advantages of the Nick Stick:
-Well made, durable pen
-Extremely compact/portable
-Zero mess
-Lasts a REALLY long time
